Some of you have asked me to discuss the not so fun details of my wedding such as the cost, things I would've done differently, & details I wouldn't change if I had to do it again. So, i'll start with cost. My wedding cost my husband & I a pretty penny. I'm not going to get into the hard details about how much each vendor cost us but I will state that your wedding day and your happiness is priceless. To me, if you're going to be upset or regret having done something then isn't it worth it? When you get married, God willing, you hope to only do it once. Therefore, spend that insane amount of money on flowers if that is what will bring you joy on your wedding day, hire the EDM violinist, purchase the elaborate runway with your names engraved. Whatever it is that you know you cant pass up, just do it!

When planning your wedding it can be very overwhelming & sometimes you forget about the small details. I went to two different florists: one that my venue recommended & one that was very well known in the wedding industry. This is where I wish I would've went the more expensive route. Though my florist did an amazing job, and made everything beautiful I did regret not having chosen the well known florist. Why you may ask? Well because I had requested to do three different types of table scapes. I wanted one to be tall glass candelabras. I thought, she knew what I meant when I told her. Instead I ended up with short glass votives in a candelabra centerpiece. It just wasn’t what I had envisioned or expected. I don't want to get into the nitty gritty details, but my point is that I went with the less expensive option. I believe if I would've went with whom I really wanted that they would've executed my vision properly.

When choosing your photographer make sure their style aligns with your style. Once you’ve figured out what you like & don't like about their photo style it will start to make the elimination process much easier. I wanted that “model bride” type of photography. That’s why I chose the photographer that I did.

If you hire a planner or a day of planner like I did make sure you tell them about all the little details that needs to be executed. For instance, my husband had ordered a white suit jacket to change into along with my second dress change. I never mentioned this to anyone & my husband left his jacket back at the hotel we were staying in. So he never changed into a jacket that was indeed paid for. So that was a bummer. Normally your planner would be the person to leave & go grab it but it was already too late. Your wedding night just flies by & we decided it was just not a big deal.

People always say not to go nuts with the video, but looking back I do wish I put more thought into my videographer & found the type of style that I love. I wanted our video to remind me of a fun music video that features a couple in love but that featured all of the details that I chose to include in my wedding that made it unique to Matt & I. When planning my engagement photos, I tried to get something like this. I wanted my videographer to come and catch the movements of the behind the scenes and make it into a video. Unfortunately, my videographer couldn’t make the engagement shoot so I never got that video. I did invite him to video my engagement party. It just wasn’t the same of what type of feeling I was looking to capture. Don’t settle!! I hate settling, yet I do it all the time. Plan ahead so you don’t have to settle! Don’t procrastinate like I did on so many things! Bottom line, my wedding day video came out beautiful. Im happy with it but I think if I really put the time that I should've into it, it would've been more like what I had been looking for.

To sum up this post, I just want to say to make sure you take the time to look into different vendors for pricing, style, and professionalism. Make sure you write down or tell your planner each detail that you want to be showcased. Make sure they know exactly what each detail is. Plan the wedding that you can afford & the one that you've dreamt of. Make sure you put money into the details that you feel most strongly about.

Message me if you'd like more information about my vendors.
